Labels provide adequate information about the drink and its suitability for various groups of people.

Legislative governs the use of water in a more specific context. Bottled water is categorised as food, with health and quality requirements defined by the Food Act no. 110/1997 Coll. and its implementing regulations, in particular Regulation no. 275/2004 Coll., as amended, “The required quality and health properties of bottled water and the methods of its production”, regulating health requirements and labelling of various types of water.

The Regulation also divides bottled water into:
  • natural mineral water
  • spring water
  • infant-quality water
  • bottled drinking water
